Chuy's Brings Tex-Mex Eatery To Orland Park

ORLAND PARK, IL -- A Texas original is coming to Orland Park. Opening day for Chuy’s Tex-Mex is Tuesday, March 27. The first 50 people in line when doors open at 11 a.m. will be awarded a year’s worth of “Free Chuy’s for Two” gift certificates, redeemable at the Orland Park Chuy’s.

The Orland Park location is the 93rd Chuy’s in the United States. The restaurant opened two other Chicagoland locations in Warrenville and Schaumburg in 2017. Chuy’s started more than three decades ago in Austin, Texas, where it enjoyed a cult following in the South. The menu features made-from-scratch Tex-Mex using only the freshest ingredients. Menu items showcase family recipes found in South Texas, New Mexico and Mexican border towns. Each August, Chuy’s travels to Hatch, New Mexico, for the chile pepper harvest.

Everything is made from scratch, down to its ten signature sauces and hand rolled tortillas. Menu items include Chuy’s famous “Big As Yo Face” burritos, Baja fish tacos, seasoned grill sirloin, Elvis Green Chile Fried Chicken, and a Mexi Cobb salad to name a few. Other embellishments boast fresh guacamole, and hand-pulled roasted chicken.There’s also a kid’s menu.

Chuy’s also features happy hour drink specials and its fully-loaded nacho car from 4 to 7 p.m. weekdays. Guests can imbibe on Chuy’s margaritas made from hand-squeezed limes.

The restaurant chain boasts that “if you’ve seen one Chuy’s, you’ve seen one Chuy’s.” The eclectic decor has been known to feature Elvis shrines, hand-carved fish, hubcaps and funky folk art.

The new Orland Park Chuy’s Tex-Mex is located at 15610 S. LaGrange Road (across the street from Target). Hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Sunday through Thursday; and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Friday and Saturday. Keep up with Chuy’s Orland Park happenings on Facebook.
