Cops Find Loaded, Uncased Gun in Robbins Man's Car: Prosecutor
22-year-old man told Orland Park cops he needed gun for protection, prosecutor said.

ORLAND PARK, IL -- Orland Park cops found a loaded gun in a 22-year-old man’s vehicle during a traffic stop on Oct. 4, prosecutors said.
According to the charges, Jordan Brewer, of Robbins, was stopped in the 15400 block of 94th Avenue, Orland Park, around 9 p.m. Police found 42 grams of cannabis, along with an uncased and loaded 9mm Ruger beneath the driver’s seat.
Police said Brewer did not have a FOID or conceal-carry permit. The serial number on the gun was also found to be rubbed out.

The prosecutor said that Brewer admitted to carrying the gun for protection. The location of the gun inside the vehicle allowed Brewer easy access.
Brewer was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon without a FOID or conceal carry permit, possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number, and possession of cannabis, all felonies.

Bail was set $50,000. Brewer’s next court hearing is scheduled for Nov. 2 in Bridgeview.
