Diaper Boutique Offers Earth-Friendly Choices for Orland Families

Cutie Poops and Bottoms goes beyond simple cloth diapers.

If the thought of reusable diapers creates ideas of diaper pens and plastic pants then you’ve got it all wrong.

Diapers that can fasten, snap, hook and adjust to fit your child as he or she grows can be found in Orland Park. For almost two years, have provided Orland Park families with earth-friendly, safe and cost-efficient cloth diaper options.

With five different cloth diaper options available that range from one-size diapers to hybrids, which act as a wearable holder for parents who may want disposable at one time and cloth at a different point, this boutique offers several options to fit parents’ needs. Leave the thoughts of soaking and dunking behind. These diapers can come equipped with easy to clean micro-fleece, bio-liners and diaper sprayers that will make changing your bundle of joy a less hazardous occasion.

The prices, compared to using disposables year round, are as gentle on the parent’s wallet as they are on the child’s bottom. Cloth diapers cost between $400 to $600 and can be used from the child's birth to potty training.

Parents who use disposable diapers spend $2500 to $3000 during the same time frame. Additionally, cloth diapers are earth friendly and won’t take almost 500 years to decompose like disposable diapers.

These benefits led owner Sherrie Edwards to open Cutie Poops and Bottoms. Worried about what the cost of disposable diapers would be for the twins she was expecting, Edwards researched cloth diapers and decided that was the way for her to go.

When her boys arrived so did her diapers and she loved them. The only negative was she could only get them by ordering online. After telling everyone she knew and met about the diapers, word quickly spread to a local businessman who agreed to be Edwards’ partner in opening the natural-product-focused baby boutique.

The store that sits at 14910 S. LaGrange Road not only offers eco-friendly and chemical free products but the back of the store is used for teaching. Diapering 101, pre-natal yoga, lamaze, infant CPR and pediatric first aid classes are just a few options available at the store.
