District 135 Celebrates Students' Art Work, National Youth Art Month with Exhibit at Orland Park Public Library
The exhibit opens March 4.

Youth Art Month emphasizes the value of art education for all children and as a viable factor in the total education curricula that develops citizens of a global society.

In honor of National Youth Art Month, the Art Educators of District 135 are hosting a Visual Arts Show. Selected pieces of artwork will showcase the many talents of students in grades 1 through 8.
“The District is proud to be able to share the talented work of our students with the Orland community and work with the Orland Park Public Library on providing a community forum for the exhibit,” said Superintendent Dr. Janet Stutz. “The students are excited to display their projects to all and we hope the community will enjoy this year’s Youth Art Show.”

A reception honoring all student artists will be held on Tuesday March 10th, 2015 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Orland Park Public Library. The artwork will be on display from March 4 through March 30, 2015 for the whole community to see an array of art that includes pencil drawings, water coloring, acrylic paintings, mixed media collages, Kachina Dolls, 3-D clay sculptures and much, more.
The Orland Park Public Library is located at 14921 Ravinia Ave. in Orland Park. Library hours are Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m., Saturday 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and Sunday 1:00 p.m. -5 p.m.
This annual exhibit is by the Art Educators of Orland School District 135 Sue Berry, Eryn Blaser, Diane Buerger, Sharon Grasman, Nancy Heuser, Debbie Johnson, John Murphy, and Cathy Yager.
