District 230 Continues to Adjust Administration Structure
Changes to help district plan for future

With an eye on the future, Consolidated High School District 230 continues to make incremental adjustments to its administrative structure, aimed at aligning administrative positions to the Strategic Framework goals and in order to strategically prepare for the future.
A trifecta of retirements, new positions and departures from District 230 coalesced into an opportunity to review and strategize on how to best impact our efforts. As Dr. Nolting took the position of Superintendent in 2021, he was transparent with the board and leadership that administrative restructuring was a priority. Changes should be incremental to honor those in current positions as best possible, but there must also be an eye on the future and blend what works best for students, staff and programs while also being fiscally responsible.
School Board President Dr. Lynn Zeder says, "District 230 will navigate and embrace change with a strategic vision for the future. In the wake of retirements, new roles and departures, we will seize the opportunity to align our administrative structure with our goals and a commitment to our students.”

The role will also leverage data to continuously improve programs of support as well as engage in collaborative leadership of professional learning in the district. This position is rooted in the job description of Assistant Superintendent for Student Services, currently held by Dr. Kim Dryier, who announced her departure from District 230 as of June 30, 2024.

Director of Pupil Personnel Services - a revised role, elevating the responsibilities of current Director of Student Services Lisa Shulman, expanding beyond Special Education into summer school, guidance services and alternative education.
Director of Safety and Security - this is a new position which will focus on issues arising within crisis management and requires a specific focus and specialization. Over the past 20 years, school safety has been vital to student and staff success, but also in today’s ever changing landscape. The person will be accountable for residency and discipline systems, along with deans and guidance departments, and focus on prevention and management of campus safety.
Database/IWAS Specialist - this is a revised role of retiring Dawn Rueter-Cox, Director of Data and Assessment. This will return as a non-administrative role with many of the responsibilities involving student data, state and federal reporting and other data functions. This individual will also assist administrators to make decisions regarding effectiveness of programs.
Grant/PPP Specialist - this new position will help diversify the district's funding sources, enhancing capital project/major equipment purchases while developing partnerships within our community. This will add value and efficiency as well in monitoring and implementing our current federal grant programs to ensure every dollar granted is a dollar spent on students.
