Work of Foundation recognized in the Team category

The District 230 Foundation received a "Those Who Excel Award" in the team category at the 49th annual Illinois State Board of Education Awards ceremony for the work they do to support and positively impact the students at Sandburg, Stagg and Andrew High Schools.
According to the Illinois State Board of Education, the annual "Those Who Excel & Teacher of the Year Awards" celebrate incredible classroom teachers, administrators, teams, volunteers, and school support personnel who have made lasting impacts on the students, families, and fellow educators in their school communities.
According to D230 Foundation President Ann Oliver, “It was a privilege to be honored at the annual Those Who Excel awards ceremony. The State Superintendent of Education Dr. Tony Sanders congratulated every single individual of the more than 500 awardees personally.”

The District 230 Foundation was nominated by Superintendent Dr. Robert Nolting and Director of Communications and Public Relations Jennifer Waterman for a Special Recognition in the Team category.
Oliver added, “It was an honor to be nominated, and an even greater honor to win. As I looked across the packed banquet hall, I realized how many great teachers, administrators, support personnel, and volunteers there are across Illinois. And, even better, how much they are recognized and appreciated. I am proud to be a member of the District 230 community, and proud of playing even a small part in our students’ education through the Foundation’s teacher grants. Our teachers are all winners in my book.”
