District 230 School Board adopts 20th consecutive balanced budget
Revenues projected to exceed expenditures
The Consolidated High School District 230 School Board approved a balanced budget for the twentieth consecutive year, at its meeting Thursday night.
School board members unanimously approved the fiscal year 2024 budget with revenues projected to slightly exceed expenditures in the operating funds. The operating funds are the portion of the budget that represents our day-to-day activities as a School District. The four funds are the Education, Operations and Maintenance, Transportation and Pension funds. This will be the 20th balanced budget adopted by the district going back to 2004. It was noted these are projected revenues and expenditures.
“Posting a balanced budget for the twentieth consecutive year is really good news,” said Assistant Superintendent for Business Services John Lavelle. “I’m pleased that the 2023-24 budget continues this trend of fiscal responsibility and accountability,” he added.

“The District 230 School Board takes our responsibility to taxpayers very seriously,” said School Board President Melissa Gracias. “We continue to be excellent financial stewards while keeping fees for families stable and providing an excellent education for students at Sandburg, Stagg and Andrew High Schools - both inside and outside of the classroom.”
