District 230 Singers, Musicians Croon And Play Their Way To The Top

Each year, students across the state audition for the chance to perform with the best musicians in their district in Choir, Band, and Orchestra. There is also a Jazz Festival for jazz singers and jazz band players. There are nine districts, and District 230 schools are in District 1, which includes the city of Chicago and the southwest suburbs. Highly competitive, the ILMEA District competitions are one step away from the highest honor, which is being named an All-State musician.
