Drunk Driving Crackdown In Orland Park During Thanksgiving Week
Police will amp up efforts to look for impaired drivers from Nov. 22 until Dec. 2.

ORLAND PARK, IL — Police in Orland Park are planning a drunk driving crackdown the entire week of Thanksgiving. What they're calling a "high-visibility crackdown" will run from Friday, Nov. 22 through the holiday week until the early morning hours of Monday, Dec. 2. The crackdown will focus on seat belt violators as well, according to a news release from the village.
“Holiday traffic brings with it an increased risk for accidents,” Orland Park Police Lieutenant Jason Ford said. “To ensure your family makes it to and from your Thanksgiving festivities without incident, make a conscious choice to buckle up and plan ahead for a sober ride home.”
Other police departments statewide will participate in similar crackdowns as part of the “Click It or Ticket” and “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” enforcement campaigns which are funded by federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department Of Transportation.
