Architecture & Design Film Festival

The Architecture & Design Film Festival makes its Chicago debut at the Gene Siskel Film Center of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (164 N. State Street, Chicago) of Chicago May 5 to 9, with screenings of more than 40 films from 11 different countries.  The Architecture and Design Film Festival, first held in October 2010 at the Tribeca Cinemas in New York City, is an annual event that celebrates the creative spirit of architecture and design through a dynamic program of films, panel discussions and Q&As with filmmakers, architects and designers.

Highlights of the Festival include the opening night screening of “How Much Does Your Building Weigh, Mr. Foster?” as well as screenings of “Studio Gang Architects: Aqua Tower,” and “My Playground” with Danish Architect Bjarke Ingels, who will be on hand for a Q&A and book signing.

Tickets to each program are $10 for general admission, $8 for members of the American Institute of Architects and the Chicago Architecture Foundation, $7 for students and $5 for Film Center members. All tickets may be purchased at the Film Center box office. Both general admission and Film Center member tickets are available through Ticketmaster, 800-982-2787, www.ticketmaster.comand at all Ticketmaster outlets.
