District 135 Kindergarten Registration

Orland School District 135 is welcoming parents for kindergarten registration on Tuesday, February 15; Wednesday, February 16; and Thursday, February 17 at the Administration Center located at 15100 South 94th Avenue in Orland Park. Registration takes about 15 minutes to complete, and can be done from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day. Evening hours are offered on Thursday only (5:00 - 7:00 p.m.). The child does not need to be present at the time of registration, but there are activities available should they be present. Additionally, Sparky, the Orland Park Fire mascot, will be at registration on February 15 beginning at 12:30. Any children who come during Sparky’s visit are welcomed to take a free photo with him.

The District notes that coming on the scheduled dates is extremely important; late registrants cannot be guaranteed placement at their home school. There are several documents parents must bring, which are used to establish custody, age and residency. A list of these documents can be found on the district website at www.orland135.org; visitors should click on the word "Registration" along the left side of the homepage.

The District 135 Registration Office would like parents to know two important items.
1) State law requires that the child must be five years old on or before September 1, 2011 to enroll in kindergarten for the 2011-12 school year.
