Orland Township Announces Petpalooza and Pet Parade to Benefit Pet Pantry

Orland Township, 14807 S. Ravinia Ave., is hosting the inaugural Pet Parade and Fair-Petpalooza on Saturday, June 18, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the township grounds. General admission is free; however, donations to the Orland Township Pet Pantry are encouraged, with all proceeds to benefit the Pet Pantry.

The event will include appearances by White Sox baseball mascot, Southpaw, who will be on hand to take pictures and give autographs and animals from Brookfield Zoo, including the Harris Hawk. There will also be a Kids’ Zone with an inflatable bounce house, face painting, balloons, games, prizes and more. In addition, exhibitors and vendors, such as Paws Tinley Park, will be spread throughout the event, as well as food provided by local Township eateries.

Leashed pets are welcome and water stations and shading areas will be available. A pet parade, with prizes to be awarded, is scheduled for 1 p.m. Pet parade registration forms can be found on the Orland Township website, www.orlandtwp.org and one five-pound bag of pet food is requested to participate.

The Pet Pantry, a service spearheaded by Supervisor Paul O’Grady, provides food and supplies for pets and families in need within the community and greatly depends on fundraising efforts and the generosity of Orland Township residents.

"Petpalooza isn't just for those with pets," O'Grady said. "Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy the day and take in the wholesome family entertainment and support a great cause."
