Applications for the 2012 Orland Township Scholarship Program are now available at the Township office, 14807 S. Ravinia Avenue, or at www.orlandtwp.org.
Unanimously approved upon by the Scholarship Foundation President, Paul O’Grady, and the Board of Directors, 22 scholarships, totaling $16, 500, will be awarded: one $2,000 scholarship, eight $1,000 scholarships and 13 $500 scholarships.
The Orland Township Scholarship Foundation will select and award scholarship recipients based on a combination of the applicant’s leadership skills, dedication to community service, academic focus, participation in extracurricular activities, recommendations from school representatives, volunteer supervisors or employers, an assigned essay question response and any other pertinent information requested within the application. Students faced with hardships will be given strong consideration.

Scholarships, completed in their entirety, must be delivered to Orland Township, 14807 S. Ravinia Avenue, Orland Park, IL 60462, by Friday, March 2, 2012. Orland Township is open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
An additional scholarship opportunity is also available at Orland Township: applications for the Township Officials of Illinois Scholarship are available at www.orlandtwp.org or at the Orland Township office. Applications are due Thursday, March 1, 2012 and should be mailed to Township Officials of Illinois, Attn.: Scholarship Committee, 3217 Northfield Drive, Springfield, Illinois 62702.
