The national award winning Orland Park Cub Scout Pack 383 will hold its fall round up on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at Camp Sullivan, 147th Street and Oak Park Avenue in Tinley Park. Parents and boys in first through fifth grades are invited to learn more about the pack at the camp from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
Boys in sixth grade and older are also invited to Camp Sullivan to learn more about Orland Park’s newest Boy Scout troop, Orland Park Boy Scout Troop 383.
“Pack 383’s fall round up is a great way to learn about all that we do and what our pack offers boys in first through fifth grades,” said Cubmaster Jim Rybarczyk. “Camp Sullivan is one of our pack’s favorite destinations and we’re excited to invite prospective scouts to come join the fun,” he added.

Since its origin, the scouting program has been an educational experience focused on values. The twelve core values of Cub Scouts include citizenship, compassion, cooperation, courage, faith, health and fitness, honesty, perseverance, positive attitude and resourcefulness. The twelve core values are incorporated through all facets of the program, including service projects, ceremonies, games, skits, songs, crafts, athletic activities and more.
The members of Troop 383 follow the guidelines of Boy Scouts and participate in service projects and outdoor activities throughout the year. “Our boys have been very active within the community, helping other organizations, and enjoy the many outdoor activities that are the core of Boy Scouts,” Klotz said.
Cub Scout Pack 383 is comprised of age specific dens, led by trained adult volunteers. Boy Scout Troop 383 is made up of boy-led patrols. Pack 383 is the feeder pack for Troop 383.
“Ours is a very active pack with great adult volunteers who make this program available for the community,” said Pack Committee Chair Tammy Muth. “We have many special events throughout the year, including our Cubmobile, Fishing and Pinewood Derbies plus a whole lot more,” she said.
Klotz added, “Boy Scout Troop 383 was chartered at the end of last year and we have a great group of boys in the troop. We invite everyone to come out to learn more about both groups.
