Suddenly Senior Conference, Sponsored by IL Continuity of Care Associaton, South Suburban Chapter

The Suddenly Senior Conference, sponsored by the South Suburban Chapter of the Illinois Continuity of Care Association, will take place September 27, 2011 from 7:00am to 4:30pm at the Tinley Park Convention Center (18501 S. Harlem Avenue, Tinley Park, IL).

Suddenly Senior is a full day event that is designed to educate, inform, and entertain those who work in senior care. The event is designed to bring together the areas leading professionals in the medical, social services and senior service industries.

Educational speakers participating in this event will include both morning and afternoon keynote speakers along with four (4) breakout sessions which include professionals addressing the unique medical, psychological and social needs of seniors; resources; legal concerns; government programs and much more.

Social workers, nurses, physical and occupational therapists, care and case managers, as well as administrators and business professionals will not want to miss out on this educational opportunity.

Participants in Suddenly Senior have the opportunity to gain up to six (6) continuing education unit (CEU) credits by attending the breakout sessions. CEUs will be provided by Rehab Connections, an approved continuing education sponsor through the State of Illinois.

Morning keynote speaker Matt Thornhill, author and co-founder of The Boomer Project will present “How Boomers Will Transform the Healthcare Industry.” The afternoon keynote speaker, Greg Risberg, MSW, CSP will give a presentation entitled “Humor, Hugs, and Hope,” aimed at helping people find more humor in their lives and renewing their sense of hope, as well as helping healthcare professionals utilize a caring touch appropriately in their personal lives and work settings.
