Facebook Friend Accused of Sexually Assaulting Orland Park Girl
Police said Evergreen Park man and girl had known each other on Facebook, when he asked her out and sexually assaulted her in his car.

ORLAND PARK, IL -- An 21-year-old Evergreen Park man was arrested at his home last Friday after an Orland Park girl claimed the he sexually assaulted her. He is currently being held on $750,000 bail after a weekend court appearance, Orland Park police said in a news release.
William Jones, of the 2700 block of West 97th Place, Evergreen Park, appeared before Cook County Judge Adam Bourgeois Jr. at the Leighton Criminal Courts Building, where he was charged with three felony counts of criminal sexual assault with force.
According to the charges, the girl, whom Orland Park police described as juvenile, said she has known Jones through Facebook for the past several years. Jones asked the girl on May 4 if she wanted to “hang out.” Police said Jones picked the girl up and sexually assaulted her in his car.

After his arrest on May 5, the Cook County State’s Attorney’s office reviewed the case and approved three charges of criminal sexual assault with force against Jones. He appeared Sunday in bond court. Jones’ next court date is May 9 in Bridgeview.
