Fake Bomb Threat at Orland Square Mall
Orland Park police found nothing after a caller said several bombs were placed in the mall Monday night.

ORLAND PARK, IL - Police in Orland Park are looking for the person who made a false bomb threat call to Orland Square Mall on Monday. Mall security received a call at 6:34 p.m. from someone stating that there were "several bombs placed throughout the mall and demanded money," according to a press release from the Orland Park Police Department. But a search at the mall revealed no suspicious items.
When mall security had questions regarding the suspect's specific demands, inconsistencies in the caller's story were "immediately revealed," according to police, who called the threat a hoax.
A call from the same phone number was made several minutes earlier to the police department in Nashville, Tennessee. In that case, the caller stated he had hostages and demanded ransom money.
