Find Out How Orland Park Runners Fared at Chicago Marathon

Orland Park runners fared well at the Bank of America Chicago Marathon on Sunday. 

Frederic Nielsen was the first Orland Park resident to finish the 26.2-mile race in Chicago Sunday, according to unofficial results posted on the Chicago Marathon website. He crossed the finish line with an impressive time of 2:38.24. Teresa Kirby was the first female Orland Park resident to complete the marathon. She finished with an unofficial time of 3:39.27.

Meanwhile, Dickson Chumba, 28, of Kenya, was the overall winner of the race with an unofficial time of 2:09:25, according to Runner’s World. Florence Kiplagat, 28, also from Kenya, won the woman’s race with an unofficial time of 2:23.33, according to WGN TV. Each of the winners will receive $10,000.

The race got underway for the elite runners at 7:30 a.m.
