Food Drive For 'All God's People' Set For Church Parking Lot
The ministry hopes to gather 500 boxes of food for the homeless Friday in the parking lot of Parkview Church in Orland Park.

ORLAND PARK, IL — A food drive for "All God's People," a ministry that serves the Chicagoland homeless population, will be held in the parking lot of Parkview Christian Church, 11100 Orland Pkwy. in Orland Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, June 19 in the church's east parking lot. Organizers hope to gather at least 500 food boxes, which would feed families of four for a week.
Amid the coronavirus pandemic, All God's People founder Doreen DeBoer said the need to help the homeless with donations "has grown immensely."
DeBoer, of Tinley Park, has led a team that feeds the homeless in the city of Chicago monthly for many years. Now, due to the pandemic and recent store closings as a result of civil unrest connected to the death of George Floyd, DeBoer said the organization will now help those in communities outside the city which have been affected.

"There are now even more communities that have become food deserts because of the looting," she said.
