ORLAND PARK, IL (May 6, 2019) --- Former Orland Park Village Trustee Tom Dubelbeis has been named interim village manager for the Village of Orland Park. Dubelbeis was elected trustee in 1991 and served more than 10 years on the village board.

A Vietnam Veteran, Dubelbeis was named an Illinois Bicentennial Honor 200 Veteran by the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs in 2018. He chaired the village’s Veterans Commission from 2002 to 2010 and has served as the group’s liaison since 2015.

Prior to being elected to the Orland Park Board of Trustees, Dubelbeis served on the village’s Recreation and Parks Advisory Board and was involved with the planning of Centennial Park, its aquatic center, the village’s Lake Sedgewick and the Cultural Arts Center.

He served as president of and coached for the Orland Youth Association Girls’ Program and is an active member of a number of veterans’ organizations.

“Tom Dubelbeis brings a diverse background to the position of interim village manager,” said Mayor Keith Pekau. “He has village board and staff experience. He has worked in the private sector and he has been involved in the Orland Park community for more than 30 years. He knows Orland Park and is the right choice to lead the village through the transition to a new permanent village manager.”

Dubelbeis’ private sector experience spanned 25 plus years working for technology companies including Illinois Bell, AT&T, Lucent Technologies and Wireless Information Technology where he oversaw sales and marketing.

He holds a Master of Science Degree from Chicago State University with a bachelor’s degree from Chicago Teachers College. Dubelbeis and his wife, Therese, have two adult daughters and live in Orland Park.
