Freedom Title Corporation Shops for New Toys and Gifts for Children

The staff of Freedom Title Corporation in Hoffman Estates recently gave to children and teens fighting cancer by collecting toys, gifts and $200 in gift cards to benefit the Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation (POTCF). Larry Howard, President and Founder of Freedom Title Corporation celebrated Mardi Gras once again by shopping with his staff, followed by a Mardi Gras celebration dinner. When the last shopping cart had rolled across the checkout lane the Freedom Title Family purchased more than $2,000 worth of toys and gifts for children and teens fighting cancer.

Freedom Title Corporation was founded with the concept of providing an experienced and quick response to the needs of the commercial/industrial and developer/builder client. As a result, they became a full-service title and escrow agent of Chicago Title Insurance Company.

Larry Howard and his team members selected toys and gifts for the Treasure Chest Foundation. He makes a point to invite his team to share in this rewarding experience followed by an evening of celebration to be thankful for all that they have. Freedom Title Corporation Controller Nancy Columbia says, “We all have so much fun doing this! We are all so proud and thankful to work for Larry. He is such an incredible man who inspires us to do more not only at work but for others outside of work.” Senior Escrow Officer Jamie Howard said, “This is the best night of the year. We all go to Target and shop for the kiddos. It is usually our Fat Tuesday outing, and then we all go out to dinner.”

Treasure Chest Foundation CEO and Founder Colleen Kisel acknowledged the importance of Freedom Title’s shopping extravaganza. “The Treasure Chest Foundation is especially grateful to Larry Howard and the Freedom Title Family for their enormous donation of toys and gifts,” said Ms. Kisel. “We are truly blessed to have their support. Larry Howard and Freedom Title Corporation have been enormous supporters of the Treasure Chest Foundation since our inception in 1996. Our 37th Treasure Chest program was established in honor of Larry Howard of Freedom Title Corporation, Hoffman Estates, IL.”

The POTCF is a unique organization whose services impact more than 15,300 young cancer patients in 64 cancer treatment centers in 21 states across the nation and in the District of Columbia. Nowhere else in the nation does such a program exist. Colleen Kisel founded the organization in 1996 after her then seven-year-old son Martin had been diagnosed with leukemia in 1993. Ms. Kisel discovered that giving her son a toy after each procedure provided a calming distraction from his pain, noting that when children are diagnosed with cancer their world soon becomes filled with doctors, nurses, chemotherapy drugs, surgeries and seemingly endless painful procedures. Martin celebrated his 29th anniversary of remission from the disease in March of this year.
