Fugitive Wanted for Supermarket Booze Heist: WARRANT

A man AWOL from electronic home monitoring is wanted for stealing 41 bottles of vodka from an Orland Jewel, cops said.

ORLAND PARK, IL -- A man allegedly on the run for escape from electronic monitoring stole a large quantity of vodka from a supermarket.

Orland Park police were in court seeking an arrest warrant for D’Marco Hill, 24. The detective told the judge that Hill was seen skulking outside of the Jewel at 9350 W. 159th St. He was captured on store security cameras entering a work area for employees only.

Hill grabbed a cart and loaded it with 41 bottles of Grey Goose. When he tried to leave the back of the store, he had to force the door open, the detective said.

Jewel store security identified Hill in a photo lineup who they recognized from past encounters, the detective said. Police have checked places he’s been known to frequent, but haven’t been able to find him.

The prosecutor told the judge that Hill has a pending burglary and theft case. He is also AWOL from electronic home monitoring, according to the Cook County Sheriff.

Illinois Department of Corrections indicate that Hill served two years for a 2011 felony theft conviction.

The judge issued an arrest warrant carrying $100,000 bail.
