Guest Unloads Insults at Cops Outside Gizmos

VIDEO: Watch as an angry customer at Gizmos Fun Factory in Orland Park berates two police officers who remain calm until backup arrives.

ORLAND PARK, IL — A one-sided verbal confrontation between a father and two police officers was captured on video outside the Gizmos Fun Factory in Orland Park over the weekend.

A video shared by Facebook user Armour Phillips shows an irate man involved in a scuffle before unloading a series of insults at a pair of onlooking police officers.

The video starts by showing the end of a brief physical confrontation outside the amusement center on Orland Square Drive, then of one of the police officers spraying something at the man after following him a few feet into the parking lot.

The man responds with a series of expletives directed at the police officers, who remain at a distance near the business as the man was a few feet away in the parking lot.

"I ain't no Trayvon Martin... I'm white and black," was one of the phrases directed at the police. It was one of the few that did not contain expletives.

After a minute or so, the man was physically restrained by a woman at the scene but continued to yell the derogatory phrases at the police. A marked Orland Park police car then showed up and the man was handcuffed and placed in the vehicle.

Unconfirmed reports indicate the man was upset about being ordered to wait in a long line before the confrontation unfolded.

Police did not immediately respond to a request for comment. A representative from Gizmos declined to comment on the incident Monday morning.
