Homer Glen School Evacuated Due to Bomb Threat

The threat was left some time over the weekend.

A Homer Glen elementary school was evacuated Tuesday morning after staff received a voicemail hinting at a bomb in the school.

The message for William E. Young Elementary School, 16240 S. Cedar Drive, was left over the weekend, NBC reports.

Students were evacuated to Luther J. Schilling School, Will County Sheriff’s Spokemsan Kathy Hoffmeyer told NBC. The DuPage Bomb Squad searched the school with bomb-sniffing dogs before giving the all-clear.

“We will continue to investigate the source of this serious disruption, and apologize for the irregular day this caused for your child,” said Superintendent Dr. Kara Coglianese in a release on the school’s website. ”We recognize the great responsibility entrusted to us in keeping your child safe and we would like to thank you in advance for your support and patience during today’s incident.”
