Huntington Learning Center Celebrates 15 Years in Orland Park

Educational center celebrates years of working with thousands of students in a variety of ways.

The Huntington Learning Center is celebrating its 15th anniversary in Orland Park. Owners Rick and Beth Brodecki opened the center in December 1997 and the center has been helping students with reading, writing, math, study skills and ACT prep ever since.

“Since the center works with a few hundred students over the course of each year, we have literally helped thousands of area students over these past 15 years. That is very gratifying and something about which we are very proud,” said owner Rick Brodecki.

“All three of our children attended the center. Our oldest child was in first grade when we opened, and he is now about to graduate college. So much has happened in those 15 years,” according to co-owner Beth Brodecki.

In fact, Huntington Learning Center is one of the longest-standing tenants at the Ravinia Plaza mall it occupies.

“I think that says a lot about the quality of service we have provided to the community over the years,” adds Rick Brodecki.

The Brodeckis attribute much of Huntington’s success to its dedicated employees. Center Director Mary Nenn has been with the center for 10 years.  Several other staff members and teachers, including Chris Fuller, Jenni Schuster, Chester Sempkowski, Rob Sandoval, Sue Moy and Eileen Carpenter have been with the center since its very early years.

Huntington provides academic testing and tutoring to school age children in the areas of Reading, Writing, Phonics, Math and Study Skills. An area which has seen significant growth over the past seven years is Huntington’s ACT Prep program. The center has tracked student score improvements and reports an average increase of over 4.5 points for students who complete the majority of their programs.

Huntington is accredited by both the North Central and Middle States Associations, which means the center has undergone extensive peer review by the education community.

“We believe accreditation truly makes us stand apart and should be taken by the community as an indication of our commitment to providing a quality education to every student,” concludes Beth Brodecki.

The center is located at 15226 S. LaGrange Road in Orland Park. Call 708-226-0422 or visit www.huntingtonlearning.com for more information.
