Kruse 50th Anniversary Celebration

The 2023-2024 school year marks the 50th for Kruse Education Center in Orland Park. The school is planning a free community celebration from 1-5 p.m. on Saturday, May 11 in recognition of the anniversary.

“We have been celebrating the anniversary at the school all year long,” said Mrs. Kim Hartnett, Kruse Principal. “We have had theme days, celebrations, and even brought back the much-loved Kruse Feast. Students were also excited to open up a time capsule from our 25th anniversary that was filled with photos, artifacts, and a home video taken at Kruse!”

The 50th Anniversary Celebration will be held outside of Kruse Education Center, but the building will be open for any attendees who wish to walk through the school. The staff plan to display historical and nostalgic items from throughout Kruse’s 50 years.

Outside, there will be games and activities to keep families busy. There will also be performances by current Kruse students and the Central Middle School Band. Popular local band “The Walk-Ins” will also be making a special appearance.

Food trucks will also be on site for anyone wishing to purchase food or drinks throughout the day.

All community members are invited to join the celebration.
