Meet a Loyola Doctor
Dr. Derek Matoka, Urologist and Associate Professor, has a passion for helping children overcome complicated urological health conditions. “It was in my fifth year of residency that I was finally exposed to pediatric urology and it just clicked, there was something extra,” said Matoka, a native of Pittsburgh. “I enjoyed working in the other urological specialties but I found a true passion in pediatric urology.” Dr. Matoka’s professional interests include minimally invasive approaches to pediatric urological conditions, complex genitourinary reconstruction, stone disease and general pediatric urology. He sees patients at Loyola Center for Health at Homer Glen, Loyola Outpatient Center, Loyola Center for Health at Wheaton and Loyola Center for Children’s Health at Oakbrook Terrace.

Gottlieb Memorial Hospital, a community hospital of the Loyola University Health System, has four high-performing specialties in the new rankings: Geriatrics, Neurology & Neurosurgery, Orthopaedics and Urology.
Loyola University Health System (LUHS) is a member of Trinity Health. Based in the western suburbs of Chicago, LUHS’s 61-acre main medical center campus in Maywood includes a 559-licensed-bed hospital that houses a Level 1 Trauma Center, a Burn Center and the Ronald McDonald® Children’s Hospital of Loyola University Medical Center.
