Marching Eagles take The Forbidden Forest show on the road

Started season with Grand Marshal Award at Illinois State Fair

The start of the 2016 Marching Eagles season kicked off on June 21 with instrument sectional rehearsals that were held twice a week. Then on July 25 the Marching Eagles started a three-week camp with 6 hours of rehearsal each day.

During the second week of camp, the Marching Eagles took time to perform at the Taste of Orland on August 5, and then on August 11, the Marching Eagles officially started the 2016 season by taking home the Grand Marshal Award at the Illinois State Fair Twilight Parade.

With a 1st place award under their belt, the Marching Eagles look forward to a successful marching season. In addition to parade performances, the 2016 Marching Eagles will present their exceptional field competition show “The Forbidden Forest” a dark and mysterious musical production several times.

  • October 15 at the Illinois Marching Band Championships held at University of Illinois’s Memorial Stadium

Now that the football season is in full swing, come out and see the Marching Eagles exciting pre-game show and game night half-time performance. The Marching Eagles will preview parts of their 2016 competition show during the half-time performances.
