Marist Plans Spring 3v3 Soccer Tournament

First-ever soccer tourney offers brackets for elementary school boys and girls, Feb. 26-27.

Marist High School is planning an inaugural Spring into Spring 3v3 soccer tournament set for Friday, Feb. 26 and Saturday, Feb. 27.

The soccer tourney offers brackets for boys and girls in fifth, sixth and seventh grade, along with eighth grade students who took the entrance exam at Marist.

Participants may organize teams consisting of three to six players along with a coach. All teams will participate in pool play on Friday, Feb. 26.

The next day, Saturday, Feb. 27, there will be a winners and consolation bracket. Each team can expect to play three to five games over the weekend.

The cost per team is $75 and includes a T-shirt as well as medals for the winning team in each bracket. The deadline for registration is Feb. 12. The tournament will take place at Marist High School, 4200 W. 115th St., Chicago.

Pools and brackets will be determined and communicated to coaches by Monday, Feb. 21. Coaches responsible for communication this information to their players.

This tournament is a qualifying event for the ChallengeSports 3v3 National Championship, at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, at Walt Disney World Resort, July 29-July 31. The top four teams in each division qualify.
