MeetMe App Date Turns Into Aggravated Robbery In Orland Hills: Cops
Orland Hills cops investigate botched MeetMe date where a man showing to meet his date was robbed in in the parking lot.
ORLAND HILLS, IL -- A man arriving to meet his MeetMe date in a parking lot was instead punched and mugged by an alleged robber in Orland Hills. The aggravated robbery happened Aug. 21 in the 9200 block of West Hunter.
According to police information obtained by Patch, the man arranged a date with a woman he met on the MeetMe app. When the man arrived to pick up his date in the parking lot of the woman’s building, he was confronted by the alleged robber, who police said punched the man in the face and threatened him with a gun. Police said a gun was never displayed, but inferred. The robber reportedly took the man’s phone and fled.
