Religious Theater Group Brings Family Musicals To Orland Park

Christian Youth Theater will be having a free theater workshop at Calvary Church of Orland Park.

Broadway-style shows are coming to the south suburbs, and your children can play a role.

On Tuesday evening, Justin Parks, executive director and co-founder of the Christian Youth Theater, will present a free theater workshop for children ages 5-11 at .

"We will present productions that people will exceed expectations greatly," Parks said. "This is a life changing experience for not only their kids but for parents as well."

The workshop is open to children of all faiths or no faith.

According to CYT's website, the goals of CYT are:

1. To train children in the performing arts.

2. Building leadership skills.

3. Develop a sense of community and fellowship.

4. Provide positive, godly role models for students.  

"We produce Broadway-style, family-friendly musicals such as Annie, Seussical, Narnia, Willy Wonka, The Jungle Book and all the fairy tales," said Parks.

Local children are invited to participate.

A Summer Disney Movie Magic camp will be held at Calvary Church at 16100S. 104th Ave., for ages 5-11 July 23-27.

More information regarding the summer camp will be available during the workshop/parent meeting 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 17 at Calvary Church of Orland Park.
