Names in the News, Mackey Opens New Orland Park Pub

Mackey's Pub is the second bar and restaurant John Mackey has opened in Orland Park. You may have heard about his first pub. A little place called Paddy B's.

John Mackey saw the opportunity and ran with it to open at 9400 W. 143rd Street, the site where Danny’s Corner stood for a little over a year until it closed in February. He decided to open back up in Orland Park, where he, his wife and family, have lived for near 30 years, about 16 years since he sold Paddy B’s. In a new twist, Mackey’s Pub will be offering specialty martinis, along with other bar fare including their famous fried chicken.

“There’s me, my wife Maureen, my daughter Eileen and my other daughter Meghan,” said John Mackey. “Everyone was working full time jobs, so I decided between four part timers we can have one full time employee.”
