New Entertainment Venue Planned in Orland Park

Cinepolis plans to open its second Illinois movie theater at a newly proposed development in downtown Orland Park.

Village trustees are expected to approve a letter of intent between the village and Bradford Real Estate Companies that would bring an 80,000-square-foot entertainment mixed-use building to the Main Street section of downtown, according to a village news release.

The second floor of the building would be home to a Cinepolis movie theater that would anchor the development. The Texas-based theater company plans to operate eight screens “with upscale finishes and dine-in-service along with restaurant and bar service,” the release stated.

“We are very excited with the plans that have been presented for this phase of Downtown Orland Park,” Orland Park Mayor Dan McLaughlin said. “The luxury entertainment venue is the perfect addition and will add even more to the pedestrian friendly downtown area. When we first proposed the development of Downtown Orland Park, we knew that we wanted to make it as pedestrian friendly as possible and this development helps achieve that goal.”

Plans are for the first floor of the new building to include specialty retail tenants and new restaurants.

The village has said that the new development will be a $20 million project that will bring in more than 200 construction jobs and 75 new permanent jobs.

Trustees in the village are expected to approve the letter of intent Monday night.
