OP Theatrical Troupe Holds 'Pirates of Penzance' Auditions

Join the rollicking band of pirates and audition for the Orland Park Theatrical Troupe's production of "Pirates of Penzance," Jan. 28-29.

ORLAND PARK, IL -- Be part of the rollicking band of pirates in the Orland Park Theatrical Troupe’s production of Gilbert and Sullivan’s “Pirates of Penzance.” Auditions will be held Jan. 28 and Jan. 29 at the Orland Park Cultural Center. This is a large cast of 50-plus actors, including adults and children.

Auditioners are asked to prepare a piece of music at least 16 measures long. A dance audition piece will be taught, and if applicable, auditioners may be asked to stay and read from the script. Once cast, cast members must pay a $35 registration fee. The audition schedule is as follows:

Sunday, Jan. 28

  • Children (ages 6-15), 12:30 to 5 p.m.
  • Adults, 7 to 10 p.m.

Monday, Jan. 29

  • 7 to 10 p.m., adults only

Rehearsals will take place at the Cultural Center, from Feb. 4 to April 26, Sundays, from 1 to 5 p.m. and Mondays and Thursdays, from 7 to 10 p.m. Performances are April 27 through April 29. The Cultural Center is located at 14760 Park Lane, Orland Park.
