Openings Still Left For Disney Movie Magic Theater Camp
Calvary Church in Orland Park is hosting Spotlight Youth Theater with one of their very own volunteering.
When Orland Park resident Mary Freeman heard her church was starting a youth theater program, she couldn't be happier.
"Theater is one of my passions," she said. "I jumped at the opportunity to volunteer next week."
On Monday, Spotlight Youth Theater will make it's first curtain call in the south suburbs for the summer. Children ages 5 through 11 will take part in a five day camp learning the arts of drama and singing at in Orland Park.

Freeman, a teacher at Calvin Grove School in Lockport, will bring her knowledge to the campers. A Trinity Christian College alum who serves on their theater board, Freeman has been producing her own productions with students during the past few years.
"I just finished directing my fifth show, which was The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe," said Freeman. "So many of the students I worked with felt they didn't have a club they belonged to until they joined the drama club. Now it's all they want to do."

The day-long camp starting Monday will focus on drama skills, singing and expression. Tiffany Johnston, Calvary's Children's Minister, couldn't be happier as well.
"It's nice to be able to host this and see a great program carried out," she said.
Sign-ups have been so plentiful for the summer camp, Calvary will now host Spotlight Youth Theater classes in the fall.
"If this is something your child is interested in, sign them up," said Freeman, who also plays piano at Calvary and is a worship team member. "You never know how they're going to flourish."
Openings for the theater camp and fall classes are still available. Contact Spotlight Youth Theater at 847-516-2298 or www.spotlight.org for more information.
