Orland CERT Team Looking For New Members
New classes will start Oct. 7 and be held every Monday for eight weeks.

ORLAND PARK, IL — Orland residents are wanted for a new Community Emergency Response Team class that will start on Monday, Oct. 7 and run for eight Mondays in a row from 6-8:30 p.m. at the Orland Fire District Administration building at 9790 W. 151st St. Those who complete the class will be provided with the training necessary to join the 52 current active community members who are part of the Orland CERT team.
Members of the Orland CERT team assist the Fire Protection District during emergencies and extreme weather situations. Fill out an application here and send it to the Orland Fire Protection District at 9790 W. 151st St. Orland Park, IL 60462.
Some of the training provided includes safely extinguishing fires in the event of an emergency, first aid, CPR, bleeding control, assisting family and neighbors with navigating emergencies, organizing and operating search and rescue duties, coordinating and working with first responders during community emergencies and other skills.

Those who sign up for the class must be at least 18 years old. This is the sixth time the class will be offered.
