Orland Days 2018: Everything You Need To Know

Here's everything you need to know about Orland Days 2018 heading into the weekend, May 31 to June 3.

ORLAND PARK, IL -- The Lions Club’s Orland Days celebration returns this weekend from May 31 through June 3. The festival features carnival rides and impressive lineup of musical acts. Orland Days 2018 will be held at the Metra Station located on 153rd Street, about a half-mile West of Lagrange Road in Orland Park.

Every dime made from Orland Days goes back to the Lions Club’s charitable endeavors in the the community and around the globe. Before the fest opens to the public on Thursday, May 31, more than 1,800 children and adults with special needs will get to experience Orland Days before it fills up with people.

Sunday’s headline act features Northern Ireland singing sensation and former contestant on NBC’s The Voice Keith Semple. The Lions Club has also lined up several popular local restaurants providing cuisine for every craving and appetite.

Here's all the information you'll need to know heading into the weekend.

Thursday, May 31, 5 to 10 p.m.: The festival will open at 5 p.m. and close at 10 p.m. The ride special is $25 for each bracelet from 5 to 9 p.m. Beer and a DJ are available in the Entertainment Tent.

Friday, June 1, 5 p.m. to midnight: No ride specials will be offered this evening. Starting at 5 p.m. there will be a $5 cover to enter the beer tent and hear the bands. Chicago tribute band CTA (Chicago Transit Anthology) kicks off the evening’s entertainment with a set from 6 to 8:30 p.m., followed by Hair Band Nights featuring your favorite 1980s hair band tunes from 9 to 11:45 p.m.

Saturday, June 2, noon to midnight: Ride special is $25 per bracelet from noon to 4 p.m. Starting at 5 p.m. there will be a $5 cover to enter the beer tent and hear the bands. The Hat Guys get the party going with their catch modern and classic rock tunes from 6 to 8 p.m., followed by the ultimate rock tribute band Infinity bringing the evening to a close from 9 to 11:45 p.m.

Sunday, June 3, noon to 10 p.m.: Ride specials are available for $25 from noon to 4 p.m. Dance band Rosie and the Rivets take the stage from 2 to 4 p.m., with Stagg High School grads Matt, Zach and Tom playing from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Semple from NBC’s The Voice, closes the fest from 7 to 9 p.m.

The Eats: This year’s Orland Days features eight food vendors, including newbie City Barbeque, which opened in April on LaGrange Road offering low and slow barbeque; Midwest Citrus Smashers (lemonade, fruit drinks); Taco Factory (authentic Mexican cuisine); RS Concessions (carnival fare); Papa Joe’s (Italian); Barone’s (funnel cakes and Italian sausage); La India (gyros, chicken sandwiches, Polish sausage); and Half Baked and Fully Loaded (roast beef, turkey).
