Orland Man Threatened Mayor, Former Mayor, Other Officials: Illinois State Police

ORLAND PARK, IL — An Orland Park man was arrested on charges of threatening public officials in Tinley Park, Orland Park and Cook County, Illinois State Police said Friday.

Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigation Special Agents arrested 67-year-old Michael F. Henry on charges of threatening Tinley Park Mayor Michael Glotz, Cook County Commissioner Sean Morrison, former Orland Park Mayor Keith Pekau, Orland Park Trustee Cindy Nelson-Katsenes and a private citizen.

On March 18, while actively investigating Henry on allegations he threatened Morrison, Pekau, Nelson-Katsenes and a private citizen, ISP special agents were notified of additional threatening and intimidating emails sent by Henry to Glotz and several others, state police said.

On March 24, after an extensive ISP investigation, Henry was arrested, and the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office approved charges of threatening public officials (2nd offense), threatening public officials and intimidation, of which the latter two are both felonies. Henry was also charged with four counts of misdemeanor harassment through electronic communications for a 2025 case involving former mayor Pekau. No additional information is available at this time.

When public officials alert ISP of potential threats (calls, emails, in-person or online postings), ISP implements its Inappropriate Contact and Communication protocol to assess the communication, investigate confirmed threats and those meeting a criminal threshold, and offer a security assessment to the subject of the threat.
