Orland Man Wins Senior Idol

ORLAND PARK, IL - An Orland Park man is the new Orland Township "Senior American Idol Champion." Bob Smith won the competition Thursday night with his rendition of "Tomorrow Never Comes" by Garth Brooks. He beat out 16 other contestants at the Georgios Banquet Hall in Orland Park.

“I guess practicing in the garage for the past eight to nine months really paid off," said Smith, who attended last year's finals event and pictured himself on stage at the time.

More than 800 people attended the final event on Thursday, which raised money for the Orland Township Scholarship Foundation. The foundation provides college scholarships to area high school students.
