Orland Park Antique Store Stands the Test of Time
Anna B's Antiques 'N Things has something for everyone…even Man-tiques.
The blue house sitting at 14330 Beacon Avenue has had several identities over the years, but housing antiques seems to be its calling.
The house was owned and lived in by the Gunderman family in the 1900s. It was purchased and turned into an antique store in the 1980s and since then took on several businesses. The antique store turned into a gift shop and then into an in-line skateboarding store. It wasn’t until eight years ago, when Nila Rundle had a life-changing experience and decided it was time to finally pursue her dreams, that the space was converted back into an antiques store.
“There’s a lot of history here,” Rundle said, referring to the ties the Gunderman family had to Orland Park. One of the Gunderman’s daughters, Agnes, lived her entire life in the residence. Rundle keeps pictures of the dark-haired, attractive woman in the store.

“She’s my resident ghost,” Rundle said.
Rundle and her husband took over the space, converted the attic that the Gundermans only used for hanging clothes in the winter into the second floor, named it after Rundle’s grandmother and settled in.

The big blue house in Orland Park’s historic downtown antiques district was the perfect place. It was everything Rundle dreamed about since she was a little girl. Rundle always loved antiques. At 5-years-old she would knock on her neighbor’s door and ask to look in their china cabinet.
At 10 she bought her first miniature plate set. She’d purchased so many antiques during the course of her life that when she opened the store, the majority of the items were from her personal collections.
With new items arriving daily, Rundle stands by her motto of having something for everyone…even Man-tiques which pays homage to her male customers.
Every space of the store is filled with items of the past. Army uniforms and wedding dresses hang from the walls. Cabinets filled with china sets, tables decorated with vintage jewelry, books, lamps, drink stirrers, home décor and baby dolls can all be found in the store.
