Orland Park Considers Roundabout for 147th and Ravinia
The roundabout would be the village's first.

Orland Park officials last week began early discussions of implementing a traffic roundabout at 147th and Ravinia Avenue.
The roundabout—which is projected to cost between $900,000 and $1.2 million—would replace what is now a four-way stop in the village civic center corridor, at the entrance to the Village Hall.
Roundabouts are said to cut back on traffic problems and improve traffic flow by moving traffic through intersections in a continuous circular direction. The firm pitched the traffic alternative during a meeting with the Village Board’s Development Services, Planning and Engineering Committee.

Construction on the roundabout would not begin until after the widening of LaGrange Road is complete, expected by the end of 2016.
