No, Orland Park—You Don't Need To Buy A New Vehicle Sticker

Orland Park residents will not have to buy a new vehicle sticker once the current one expires June 30.

ORLAND PARK, IL — Orland Park residents will not have to buy a new vehicle sticker—if you even had one in the first place—after officials last week passed a measure eliminating the program after its nearly 50 years in effect.

Current stickers are set to expire June 30, officials said. The cost to register a vehicle with the village was $30 for residents, discounted to $10 for seniors. Revenue from the stickers typically came to $400,000 a year, and went toward pavement resurfacing. Those costs usually came to about $6 million a year.

If you haven't purchased a sticker for your car previously, you're not alone—it's estimated a fourth of vehicles in the village don't have one.
