Orland Park Man Accused of Making Stolen Car Claim in Fake 911 Call

Prosecutor said man claimed two black guys stole his car and crashed it.

ORLAND PARK, IL -- An Orland Park man is accused of making a fake 911 call about his car being stolen after he crashed it, prosecutors said Tuesday in court.

Ishaak Hamdan, 23, appeared before Cook County Judge Peter Felice on a felony of disorderly conduct and one misdemeanor count of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. He was ordered held on a no-bail warrant for violating bond on a pending aggravated battery charge.

According to the charges, Hamdan called 911 on Nov. 14 to report that his car was stolen by two black men. Hamdan told police that his girlfriend was following the car, which sustained heavy front panel damage after it veered off the roadway.

When police were checking Hamdan’s story, witnesses told police they saw Hamdan stepping out of the vehicle after he crashed it and getting into his girlfriend’s car, the prosecutor said.

Hamdan, of the 7600 block of Ponderosa Court in Orland Park, was charged with three other family members last February for dragging a 17-year-old boy out of his car and beating him over “family issues,” according to news reports.

The prosecutor said Hamdan has another pending case driving under the influence of drugs. Hamdan’s attorney said there were “no draws, no labs” taken on the DUI charge.

The judge set bail at $30,000. Hamdan’s next court hearing is Dec. 7 in Bridgeview.
