Orland Park police in February began receiving reports of cash stolen out of wallets stored in lockers in the fitness club's men's locker room. In many cases there was cash left behind in an apparent attempt to cover up the thefts.

As the investigation progressed, it was discovered that many additional thefts were not reported to the police department. Working in conjunction with the health club’s management, investigators were able to develop a crime pattern that led to the eventual suspect, David Kost. David is currently out on parole for prior thefts in Orland Park.
On Friday, March 25, members of the Orland Park Police Department conducted surveillance of David who then committed two locker thefts at Palos Health and Fitness. He was arrested as he exited the club, and was subsequently charged with two counts of felony theft.
