ORLAND PARK, IL — A 31-year-old Orland Park has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a 16-year-old Indiana girl he met online and then reportedly raping her in a hotel room after the two met, according to court records.
Connor N. Smith was arrested last week in Lake County, Ind., after authorities said that he forced the girl to perform a sex act on him in his pickup truck before then further sexually assaulting her at a local hotel, the Times of Northwest Indiana reported.
Police said that once the two got to the hotel, Smith forced the girl to undress and then pulled her into the bathroom by her hair, urinated on her and forced her to drink his urine by holding her nose, the newspaper reported, citing court records. The report states that Smith then dragged the girl back to the bed and forced her to perform a sex act on him and then reportedly strangled her for resisting and then continued to rape her.

The girl, who admitted to police she had lied about alleging that Smith had pulled her out of a window at the relative’s home because she did not want to get in trouble for sneaking out. She told police that she had met Smith online and that Smith used the username “Champ” on both the Omegle app and on Snapchat.

Police used DNA evidence from the girl after a relative gave authorities the license plate number of Smith's truck. Police determined that Smith was likely tied to the crime following an analysis of the girl's sexual assault kit, the newspaper reported.
Smith was charged on Dec. 10 with felony rape, sexual battery and two counts of criminal confinement, according to the report.
