Orland Park Man Sues Air France for a Broken Ankle at 30,000 Feet
After falling down in the lavatory, the lawsuit claims, the ensuing pain knocked him out cold.

An Orland Park man who slipped and fell last year in an Air France airplane lavatory, broke his ankle and passed out is suing Air France in federal court. Charles Benson filed the lawsuit Friday in the Illinois Northern District Court. The suit states that while aboard an Air France flight from Paris to Detroit on Jan. 18, 2013, he stepped on a “slippery substance” on the lavatory floor while the plane was over the Atlantic Ocean. The ensuing pain knocked Benson out. The lawsuit seeks damages in excess of $50,000.
