Orland Park, Oak Forest Square Off in Championship Round of 101.9 FM's Battle of the 'Burbs 2015

It’s a south suburban showdown, as Oak Forest and Orland Park residents rallied their way into the championship round of the Suburban Madness: The Battle of the Burbs 2015 contest, held by 101.9 FM The MIX Chicago.

Chicago area suburbs were nominated for the competition and residents are encouraged to text or visit the radio station’s website to vote for their favorite municipalities. South suburbanites helped their towns cruise through earlier rounds of the competition for a chance to bring home the title.

Voting in the championship round of the March Madness-style competition during “The Eric and Kathy Show,” will take place beginning Friday at 9 a.m., continuing through the weekend, according to the radio station’s website.

To vote for Orland Park, text “Orland Park” to 60123, or visit the Eric and Kathy website after voting kicks off to help Orland Park advance.

The winner will be announced Monday, with a celebration planned for Wednesday.
