Orland Park Residents' Input Wanted In Downtown Triangle District

ORLAND PARK, IL -- The Village of Orland Park will host a visioning and information session Monday, Jan. 28, to gather residents’ input into the final phase of development of the Downtown Triangle District Project. Residents will be introduced to the executive development team from Structured Development LLC. The session starts at 7 p.m. at the Orland Park Civic Center, 14750 S. Ravinia Ave.

In 2018, the village issued a Request for Qualifications/Proposals for development of the remaining nine village-owned acres. Six companies submitted proposals and after a thorough review process the village board selected Structured Development, LLC to complete the project.

“The village is pleased to have selected Structured Development as the developer of this important community project in Orland Park,” Mayor Keith Pekau said. “Our vision for the parcel combined with the expertise of the developer will surely result in a phenomenal addition to the Orland Park community.”

The Triangle currently is home to Ninety7Fifty on the Park, the University of Chicago Medicine Center for Advanced Care, the 143rd Street Metra Station, a 500-space public parking structure and the village’s Crescent Park.

“Structured Development has developed numerous urban projects in and around the downtown Chicago area,” said Trustee Carole Griffin Ruzich, chair of the village’s Development Services, Planning and Engineering Committee. “Blackhawk on Halsted and the NEWCITY development in particular show the developer’s extensive proficiency in developing mixed-use projects.”

The purpose of the public visioning and informational session offers residents the opportunity to weigh in as the project enters the final planning stages prior to development.

“We are excited to partner with the team at Structured Development,” said Village Manager Joe La Margo. “We look forward to gathering public input as we step into the final planning stages of the project.”
