Orland Park Restaurants Host Third Irish Music Trolley Event
Three free trolleys to travel among six Orland Park eateries.
ORLAND PARK, IL — The third time’s the charm for the Orland Park Irish Music Trolleys as three trolleys make a third annual appearance on Saturday, March 12. The trolleys run from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. to six restaurants and pubs featuring live Irish music and entertainment at each location.
This year’s participants include Brass Tap at 14225 95th Avenue; Fatties Pub at 14420 John Humphrey Drive; Irish Patriot at 9875 W. 143rd Street; Mackey’s Pub at 9400 W. 143rd Street; Paddy B’s, 11969 W. 143rd Street and Square Celt, 39 Orland Square Drive. The trolleys are free and offer a hop-on, hop-off route that does not require reservations.
“I’m excited to again partner with local restaurants to offer the trolleys as a way to enjoy Irish music,” said Mayor Dan McLaughlin, a sponsor of the event. “We have added a third trolley this year, so we hope Orland Park residents will take advantage of this fun and unique St. Patrick’s Day celebration.”
New to this year’s festivities is Fatties Pub, which opened in November, following the closing of Fat Sam’s last April. “I heard good things about the trolley the past two years and we are excited to get involved now that we are in this part of town,” said Steve LaRocco, owner of Fatties, formally Fat Sam’s.
Brass Tap, in Orland Park Crossing, returns for its second year.
“We loved it and had a great crowd and turn out,” said manager Kerri McMullen. “Everyone seemed to have fun. We are hoping to have great weather like we had last year.”
Guests will be treated to live, authentic Irish entertainment at each location in addition to menus that celebrate Irish cuisine. Residents can show up at any of the participating restaurants and then take the trolley to any or all of the other stops along the way.
