Orland Police 'Working Many Leads' In Slaying Of Chicago Mom Of 3
The investigation into the March 20 fatal shooting of Michellea Williams, 28, of Chicago, is "still very active," Orland Police said.
ORLAND PARK, IL — An investigation into the fatal shooting of a 28-year-old Chicago woman in Orland Park March 20 remains ongoing, and the case "is still very active."
Mechellea Williams was found fatally shot in the passenger seat of a car just in the 170th block of Rosebud Lane just after midnight March 20. Nearly a week later, police say they do not have any updates.
"We are working many leads and will be for a while," said Orland Park Police Commander Ken Rosinski. "Some of these take time."

The South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force is working alongside the Orland Park Police Department in the investigation. Rosinski said when an arrest warrant is issued or an arrest made, police will make a statement at that time.
Family have started an online fundraiser for Williams, a United States Postal worker survived by three sons ages 10 months to 10 years.

"She would move the world for her sons," the victim's grandmother Lorna Williams Welch said during a vigil held last week, ABC-7 reports. "She would move the world for her family. If somebody called her and needed her, she was there."
Williams "embodied love, life, happiness and family," family wrote in an online fundraiser started to support sons Davion (10), Terrence jr (6), and Kaison (10 months) "who will be forever impacted by the unfortunate circumstance," her cousin Breanna Williams wrote.
Police have not yet released any additional details, saying last week only that the shooter, or multiple shooters, fled the scene. A motive is not yet known.
Having started as a postal worker only a year ago, Williams had not yet qualified for life insurance, ABC-7 reports.
The GoFundMe seeks to raise $20,000 to cover funeral costs along with providing care for Williams' three sons. As of Tuesday, it had raised $5,913.
